Cool Christmas Stocking Ideas

Cool Christmas Stocking Ideas

Hands down the Christmas Stockings are my kids favourite part of Christmas Day. We leave ours outside their bedroom doors (Belle didn’t want an old man in her bedroom AKA Father Christmas) and then in the morning we all pile on our bed to open them. It’s total chaos but we love it, so there’s a lot of pressure to get the perfect stocking fillers.

As you know, we as parents don’t fill the stockings, Father Christmas does so these are things that I think the children (and adults) of the UK would like if I were to have to buy them!

Slime Baff is slime that you add to the bath or a tuff tray for kids to play with

Slime Baff – RRP £4.50

Okay, I’m not going to lie, this is messy but the kids love it in the bath or in a tuff tray in the garden and then it can be dissolved with additional water when finished. My only tip if you’re playing in a tuff tray is that it’s super slippy on a patio!

Silicone topped plastic water droppers

Water Droppers – RRP £6.99

These are great for water play on a Tuff Tray.

Things to do while you Poo book

Things to do while you Poo – RRP £4.99

A fun book full of riddles, word searches, facts, mazes, and more….What more could you want!

Reusable Organic Cotton Pads

Reusable Organic Cotton Pads – RRP £7.99

I don’t use any other kind of pads for removing make-up anymore. These are so good and you only need to use one.

Bath Water Flutes

Bath Water Flutes – RRP £8.99

These are great for little ones. The flutes make different sounds based on the amount of water and at the end of play, pop out the plug and the water drains away.

Personalised Hot Chocolate Spoon

Personalised Hot Chocolate Spoon – RRP £3.49

My kids love hot chocolate so would love a special hot chocolate spoon with their names on.

Dinosaur Spaghetti Soap

Dinosaur Spaghetti Soap – RRP £3.50

Baths in our house have become an event where we have to have coloured water, extreme bubbles, or something else. This Spaghetti soap is going to go down a treat for Freddie.

Orchard Toys Dinosaur Dominoes Game

Orchard Toys Dinosaur Dominoes – RRP £6.99

These mini games are a great introduction to games for wriggly children with little attention span.

Grow a Sloth

Grow a Sloth – RRP £5.97

Who doesn’t love a sloth!

Cats Vs Pickles Collectible toys

Cats Vs Pickles Collectibles – RRP £14.49

These little plushies are very popular with my kids. They’re both cats but I feel like I might be a Pickle.

Fun Stocking Filler Ideas for Kids

Fun Stocking Filler Ideas for Kids

I’m not sure about your kids, but in our house the stockings are our favourite part of Christmas Day. We all pile onto our bed, and I usually nip downstairs to make tea and coffee in the hope that the coffee waft will wake Chris up enough at whatever insane hour they (I) wake up.

We try and make them a bit fun and silly as a nice way to start the day. Now that our eldest is an adult, the kids know that Father Christmas no longer fills his stocking, and that it’s us that fill it full of funny bits and bobs.

Here are some great finds that will put a smile on your kids faces, big and small.

Squishy Dinosaur toy from Hyde and Seek

A Squish-a-saurus from Hyde and Seek. My kids love a squishy toy so these would be a very welcome addition to their stockings – £4.95

Child Led Play Mini Christmas Tree Lights Playdough Kit

Mini Xmas Tree Lights Playdough Kit from Child Led Play – £6.50
This would be a lovely calming activity for your little one to do to wind down from all the Christmas Festivities.

Colourful Creations Mini Pain Set

A Colourful Creations Mini Paint Set from Rascals Toy Shop – £2.95

Christmas Sweet Chocolate Bar

A Christmas Chocolate Bar from Stamford Heavenly Chocolates – £3.50
You have to have chocolate and sweets in a Christmas Stocking and this has both!

Playfoam Pals Review

Playfoam Pals Review

Playfoam Pals Review – It seems that the most popular toys at the moment are ‘surprise toys’ and the unknown of which character you’ll receive inside your box, bag or other equally fun thing to unwrap. Isabelle spends a lot of time watching unboxing videos on You Tube and gets just excited as the person filming to find out what the gift inside is. When the Foam Pals arrived they were a total surprise for Isabelle who not only didn’t know they were coming but also hadn’t heard of these before.

Playfoam Pals

Playfoam Pals come in a box with two foam filled domes, each with their own little animal inside. There are 12 animals to collect including rare gold animals if you’re lucky! You also get a little check list which you can tick off as and when you get the different animals. You can mix and match the heads and body parts of the animals to create funny combinations of animals.

The Playfoam is made from non-toxic formula and can be moulded and re-moulded into little beds for the animals and can be played with time and again.

Our Thoughts

Isabelle is always up for a surprise toy any day of the week, so she was very excited when these arrived. We were sent two packs so she had four animals to unbox.

We had two green Playfoams and two pink Playfoams. The foam is really lightweight and sticky (in a nice way). It feels like lots of polystyrene balls all stuck together and is surprisingly nice to mould before rolling into a ball and starting all over again. The animals were in the middle of the Playfoam and this is what we got:

Two Speedy the Sloth Gold Limited Edition, Chilly the Penguin and Stretch the Giraffe. Isabelle was quite taken aback that she got two gold animals. What are the chances of that!

Playfoam Pals unboxed with the characters on the top of each foam

I thought these were really good especially considering the price and the Playfoam is a nice change from Isabelle’s usual slime. These would make an excellent stocking filler or extra small gift at Christmas.
